🌊 Our Story

Goodship Ink was launched from the Cornish coast — from a small home studio based in Falmouth, artists Andrew Goodship and Laura Wilding bring the sea’s edge to paper. What began as a shared love of wild places and old stories has grown into a voyage of illustration, printmaking, and curiosity. We create limited-edition prints inspired by the wild beauty of the shoreline and the sense of something ancient and alive just beyond sight.

🪶 Inspiration from the Edge of the Sea

Our work begins with the seabirds that share our landscape — puffins, cormorants, gulls, and other coastal wanderers. Their shapes, habits, and myths inspire everything we make. Each illustration carries something of their spirit — curious, watchful, and a little untamed.

We also draw from old folklore and maritime legends, blending them with contemporary illustration to create prints that feel both timeless and freshly imagined.

🎨 Our Process

Whether it’s our digital illustrations or hand-carved lino prints, every piece begins life as a simple drawing before being carefully refined or carved into natural linseed linoleum. We print all of our own art using our in-house printing press and fine-art printer to ensure the quality of each piece before it is shipped. Working with archival inks and fine-art papers, we produce each print to order — slow, deliberate, and full of care.

🌿 Sustainability

We believe art should tread lightly. To minimise waste, our prints are made to order or hand-printed in small batches on the press. Each lino print is carved into biodegradable lino made from wood dust, hessian, and linseed oil, and printed with UK-made inks crafted from linseed oil and pure pigments.
